SomeECards.Com

What I'm Listening To: Uptown Girl ~ Billy Joel

I discovered SomeECards.Com through several post made to Pinterest.com. I am going to post a few of my favorites cards here on the blog. At the website, you can create your own card or browse through the huge selection of pre-made cards. I especially enjoy the witty and sarcastic humor found on many of the cards.

Rowan's Reader Review

What I'm Listening To: Holding Out For A Hero ~ Bonnie Tyler

A Week to be Wicked

Book Review ~ A Week To Be Wicked by Tessa Dar

I just finished the most delightful romance novel. I laughed so much throughout this book that my husband's interest was spiked as to what I was reading. He quickly lost interest when he saw it was another romance book, but he still thought it was humorous that I was in a fit of giggles and near tears over a book. I just need to state that Tessa Dare is an amazing author. I was so wrapped up in this book that when I took a nap today (I work the nightshift 7pm-7am) all I dreamed about was ways for this book to end. So needless to say I will be exhausted tonight, and because my sleep was restless over the book I went ahead and finished it instead of trying to coax myself back to sleep. It was worth the sleep deprivation.

Oh, one more note, the dedication in the book spoke to me. It reads, "For all the girls who walk and read at the same time." Yep, that's me! I knew I was going to love this book simply from the dedication. I so can't recommend this book enough, get a copy ASAP!

You can find out more about the book on Tessa Dare's website at http://tessadare.com/.

Book Review ~ The Ordinary Princess by Liz Fielding

Just finished The Ordinary Princess by Liz Fielding. It was a fairly short read. I only started it a few hours ago.  The book is a delightful romance about a journalist attempting to expose a prince and instead they fall in love with each other. Again, I love happily ever after! And this book dishes one up, so therefore I recommend the book. You can find out more about the book and read an excerpt on Mrs. Fielding's website at

What I'm Listening To: Gotta Be Somebody ~ Nickelback

So I am a Pinterest addict. And the picture below is a pretty cool pin from Pinterest. I find this pin so artistic and original! I mean really creating words with shadows and wire. This work had to have taken a long time to construct. If you don't have a Pinterest.com account comment your email address below and I will send you an invite.

What I'm Listening To

What I'm Listening To: Hey Jude ~ The Beatles

I've decided that each time I make a post to the blog that I am going to include what I happen to be listening to at that time on my MP3 player/Computer/Phone/Radio (I always have music on). I think it will help my readers relate a little easier to me. Oh, and by the way, I stole this idea from the PubRants blog. I love that PubRants always post what she's listening to. Let me know what you think.

Random Post ~ Easter Pedicure

What I'm Listening To: Whatever It Is ~ Zac Brown Band

Easter is coming! That means next week I'm going for a pedicure. I love pedicures and I make sure I always treat my self to a new dress and a pedicure for Easter. A girl had to look good for church.   ;-)

Anyways, I have the dress. It's green. I usually go with a french tip for my Easter pedicure, but this year I'm considering using this new Kermit Green from OPI for my pedi. It's pretty, but I'm worried it might look gross on my toes. Has anyone tried this yet or similar shade on their toes? I'd love to know your thoughts.

Cute Movie Scene

MP3 Currently Playing: Only Wanna Be With You ~ Hootie & The Blowfish

I really enjoyed the movie No Strings Attached. I have posted below a few cuts from my favorite scene. As a nurse I thought this was such a clever romantic scene. But, then cardiology is my specialty, so it makes sense that I would find it endearing. Did anyone else like it? Oh, and I'd like to mention that I think Natalie Portman is a phenomenal actress.

It's a nurse thing..., I saw this product on TV and have already lost 24 pounds! http://weightpage222.com

Quote of the Week

MP3 Currently Playing: Love Me Tender ~ Elvis Presley

I am going to post a quote each week for the blog. This week, I am going to share a quote from one of my favorites ~ Audrey Hepburn. And I have to agree with Audrey. Fairy tales are the best reads, which is probably why I am really into romantic fiction. I love a happily ever after ending!

Droid 3

MP3 Currently Playing: Remedy ~David Crowder Band

So for Christmas I got a new cell phone - a Motorola Droid 3. I am addicted to it! I have found so many apps that have changed my day to day life in 3 short months. I'd like to share a few of the apps with you.

~ Google Calendar (goodbye daily planner ~ that made some extra purse room)
~ MP3 player (I love music ~ and now I don't have to tote a MP3 player and a cell phone)
~ B&N Nook app (avid reader, enough said ~ Oh, and I don't have to buy a separate e-reader)
~ Google Translate (as a nurse this has proved handy interpreting with non-english speaking patients)
~ Ebay (I am a bit of a shopaholic)
~ Email (so nice to have it available without computer access)
~ KeyRing (takes the place of all those tags attached to your keys)
~ MyDays (tracker for menstruation, ovulation, and all other fertility matters ~ very handy)

These are just some of the awesome applications that I have downloaded from the Android Marketplace for my phone. Any suggestions out there for other apps that can help make day to day life easier? I'd love to hear about them.

Rowan's Rudimentary Ramble

Rudimentary ... first principles; primitive; undeveloped; elementary; vestigial .... all elements of my first ramble.

Ramble ... to talk or write in a discursive, aimless way.

Welcome to Rowan's Random Rambles!
